Give your AI agent a phone it can use.

A phone agent is an AI agent that operates apps on a phone the way you do: it reads the screen, taps, types and swipes. Mobilebox gives your agent the phone; Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or your own loop does the thinking.

Android is self-serve. Looking for an agent that makes phone calls? That's a voice platform.

Set it up in three steps.

One MCP server, one key. Any MCP client works.

Claude Code and Cursor setup
  1. 1

    Get a key

Sign up with GitHub and create an API key in the dashboard. New accounts get $2 of credit.

  2. 2

    Add the MCP server

Point your client at https://mobilebox.dev/mcp with the key as a bearer header.

  3. 3

    Give it a task

Ask for one bounded task and a check at the end, such as "open the app and confirm the welcome screen".

Claude Code, in one command

Other clients take the same URL and header.

bash
claude mcp add --transport http mobilebox https://mobilebox.dev/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $MOBILESANDBOX_API_KEY"

Questions

What a phone agent is, and what it isn't.

What is a phone agent?

An AI agent that uses a phone through its screen: it reads what's shown, decides, then taps, types or swipes, and checks the result. Some people call it a phone use agent, like computer use for phones.

Is this a voice or calling agent?

No. Mobilebox phones don't place calls or receive SMS. For an agent that talks on the phone, use a voice-agent platform.

Which agents work with it?

Any MCP client, including Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, through the hosted MCP server with 12 tools. Your own loop can use the REST API with the same key.

How does the agent read the screen?

As numbered elements with their text and position, so it taps by number instead of guessing pixels. A screenshot is there when the pixels matter. See screenshot or accessibility tree.

Can it use the apps I use every day?

With your own account and within each app's terms, yes for many apps. Apps with strict integrity checks may not run on a cloud phone; real devices are set up on an onboarding call. See app automation.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes. iPhone and iPad are set up on an onboarding call, then your agent uses the same calls. See iPhone and iPad, or start with a mobile sandbox on Android today.
